Repair first

Commercial kitchen floors take hot water, grease, cleaning chemicals, dropped pans and heavy equipment every day. When a weld opens, a section tears or a cove edge comes away, water and debris get under the vinyl and the damage spreads. A targeted repair, done early, can often bring the floor back into service without lifting the whole kitchen.

Where we work

Commercial kitchen floor repairs across hospitality, education and care.

We repair safety flooring in restaurant and hotel kitchens, school and college kitchens, care home and hospital catering areas, staff canteens and public-sector buildings. Much of our work comes from facilities managers, housing providers and maintenance teams who need a damaged floor dealt with quickly and with as little downtime as possible.

We plan work around service times, so repairs can often be carried out between shifts, early in the morning or on a closed day.

What we repair

Kitchen safety flooring repairs we carry out.

Most kitchen floors fail in the same places: around cookers, fryers and dishwashers, at doorways where trolleys turn, along seams and at the cove. We assess the damage from your photos and tell you what is repairable before we quote.

  • Localised safety flooring repairs to damaged sections
  • Failed or open welds cut out and hot-welded again
  • Cap and cove repairs, including loose and split cove
  • Loose or lifting flooring re-bonded where the vinyl is sound
  • Localised replacement of worn or burnt areas
  • Subfloor preparation where the base under a repair has failed
  • Repairs around equipment, plinths, drains and pipework
  • Making good after equipment moves or removals
Why repair

The case for repairing a viable kitchen floor.

Replacing a commercial kitchen floor usually means clearing the room, moving equipment and closing the kitchen for days. If the rest of the floor is sound and well bonded, a localised repair can mean less disruption, a faster fix, a lower cost and far less material sent to waste.

Repair is not always the right answer. If the subfloor is wet, the flooring is lifting across large areas or the vinyl has worn through widely, we will say so and explain the options. We do not claim that a repair makes a floor compliant with any particular standard; we restore the damaged area to a sound, sealed, welded finish.

What you're facing

Why kitchen floor damage needs dealing with early.

01

Water gets underneath

An open weld or loose cove lets water and cleaning solution under the vinyl, which weakens the adhesive and can damage the subfloor.

02

Hygiene and cleaning

Splits, gaps and lifted edges trap grease and food debris that mopping cannot reach.

03

Trip and slip hazards

Lifted edges and torn sections create trip points in a busy kitchen. Repairing them early keeps the area usable.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can a commercial kitchen floor be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes, if the damage is local and the surrounding flooring and subfloor are sound. If the floor is failing across large areas or the base is wet, replacement may be the better option. We will tell you which from your photos.
Can you repair Altro or Polyflor kitchen flooring?
Yes. We repair Altro, Polyflor and the other main commercial safety vinyl ranges, matching colour and finish as closely as possible.
Can you repair open or failed welds?
Yes. Failed weld rod is cut out and the seam is hot-welded again to give a sealed joint.
Do we have to close the kitchen?
Usually only the area being repaired needs to be out of use, and we can often work between services, early mornings or on closed days.
Can you repair flooring around kitchen equipment?
Yes. Repairs around cookers, plinths, drains and pipework are common. Where equipment needs moving, we agree that with you in advance.
How do I get a quote?
Send photos, a rough size and your postcode on WhatsApp (023 93 430 157) or through the contact form.
